The difference and advantages of high frequency and low frequency inverter

--

Based on the output wave, inverters are roughly divided into pure sine wave inverter and modified wave inverter, mainly use pure sine wave inverter now. Pure sine wave inverter are divided into high frequency inverter and low frequency inverter.

So what are the main differences between high-frequency inverters and industrial frequency inverters?

The advantage of the low frequency inverter is its simple structure, and various protection functions can be realized at a lower voltage. Because there is a power frequency transformer between the inverter power supply and the load, the inverter operates stably, reliably, with strong overload capacity and shock resistance, and can suppress higher harmonic components in the waveform. However, the power frequency transformer also has the problems of large size, bulkiness and high price, and its efficiency is also lower than that high frequency inverter, and the no-load loss is higher.

The high-frequency inverter uses a small, light-weight high-frequency magnetic core material, which greatly improves the power density of the circuit, so that the no-load loss of the inverter power supply is small, and the inverter efficiency is improved. The peak conversion efficiency can reach more than 90%. High-frequency inverters is not suitable to connect inductive loads, such as water pumps, air conditioner, refrigerators etc. Once an overload phenomenon occurs, problems such as explosion and fire are likely to occur, and the safety performance is low.
